The park protects a large area of African Savannah intersected by the River Nile. It is named after the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the Nile River explodes violently through a narrow cleft. From there, you have the option to hike to the top of the falls, but only if you have a driver to pick you up from the top of the falls, as no service will bring you back to your car. Alternatively, you can stay on the boat and drive to the top after the boat trip.
