    Things to do<\/h2> \t

    • Hike in Isalo National Park \u2013 <\/strong>Visit the park office in Ranohira the day before to book your guide and plan your route. It\u2019s about a 30-minute drive to the park entrance, and if you want, your guide can join you on the way (you can discuss this beforehand).\n<\/li>\n
    • Swim in natural pools \u2013 <\/strong>Many trails lead to cold, clear pools, which are perfect for a quick swim. Don’t forget to wear your swimwear under your hiking clothes if you’re here in summer!\n<\/li>\n
    • Watch the sunset at Isalo Window \u2013 <\/strong>This rock formation is a popular spot at the end of the day. It gets busy in peak season, but the view is worth it. Stay a bit longer to enjoy the stars.\n<\/li>\n
    • Lunch in the park \u2013 <\/strong>You can pre-order lunch at the ticket centre. It\u2019s delicious, and you might share the table with a few curious lemurs.\n<\/li>\n
    • Cool off at your lodge \u2013 <\/strong>Most lodges in Isalo have a pool. Perfect for a relaxing dip after your hike or long drive.\n<\/li>\n
    • Try the Via Ferrata at Jardin du Roy \u2013 <\/strong>Feeling adventurous? This 1.5-hour climbing route gives you a new view of the area. Book in advance at your lodge or at Jardin du Roy.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n\t <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

      Approx. 240 km | around 6 hours<\/p>\n

      Route<\/strong><\/p>\n

      • Follow the\u00a0RN7 south all the way until the ocean appears.\u00a0<\/li>\n
      • Along the way, you\u2019ll pass\u00a0Zombitse National Park \u2014 a good place to stop for a 1\u20132 hour hike.\n
          \n
        • You might spot the\u00a0white sifaka and many bird species.<\/li>\n
        • This is also where you\u2019ll likely see your\u00a0first baobabs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Continuing to your lodge<\/strong><\/p>\n

          • Ifaty<\/strong>: Stay on the RN7 until it ends, then take the RN9 north. Ifaty is about 30 minutes from Tulear.<\/li>\n
          • Saint Augustin<\/strong>: About 5 km before Tulear Airport, turn left onto a coastal road. Follow this road for 1.5 hours to reach the quiet village of Saint Augustin.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n\t <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

            To: Ambalavao \/ Tsaranoro<\/h2> \t

            Distance & time<\/strong><\/p>\n

            To Ambalavao: 230 km | approx. 4 hours
            To Tsaranoro: 215 km | approx. 5 hours<\/p>\n

            Route<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            • Start on the familiar\u00a0RN7 north.<\/li>\n
            • The road climbs in altitude as you leave the dry heat behind.<\/li>\n
            • After about\u00a02.5 hours, stop in Ihosy to fuel up and grab a coffee or Coke.<\/li>\n
            • From there, you’ll find no major towns until Ambalavao.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              If heading to Tsaranoro<\/strong><\/p>\n

                \n
              • Just after\u00a0Vidia village, turn right \u2014 your navigation will guide you.<\/li>\n
              • Follow the\u00a0off-road path for 1.5 hours to reach your lodge.<\/li>\n
