Andasibe<\/h2>\n

Andasibe is one of Madagascar\u2019s most popular parks \u2013 and for good reason. It\u2019s the only place where you can spot the Indri Indri<\/strong>, the largest living lemur. You\u2019ll also find brown lemurs, chameleons, colourful frogs, and maybe even a snake or two. The rainforest here is lush, misty, and full of life.<\/h4><\/div>\n\t <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

    Things to do<\/h2> \t

      Night walk in Mitsinjo Reserve \u2013 <\/strong>Walk with a guide after sunset to spot mouse lemurs, frogs, and sleepy chameleons. Bring a torch and wear closed shoes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Day walk in Analamazaotra or Mitsinjo Reserve \u2013<\/strong><\/strong>These neighbouring parks are great for seeing the loud, black-and-white Indri Indri, as well as brown lemurs, snakes, and chameleons.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Visit VOIMMA Community Reserve \u2013 <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>This small reserve is easy to walk in \u00e1nd supports the local community. A good option for a short, meaningful visit.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Hike Mantadia National Park \u2013 <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>This park is more remote and wild. It\u2019s just 15 km from Andasibe, but the drive takes 1.5 hours on a muddy 4×4 track. You won\u2019t see many other tourists here, but spotting wildlife is harder. Only go if you love hiking and have the time \u2013 the trails take over 8 hours to complete.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Local experience in the village \u2013<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> <\/strong>Done with your walk? Invite your guide to join you for a drink in the village. Locals are happy with an extra income, and usually very surprised to see tourists there, all smiling and waving shyly.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n\t <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

      • Follow the\u00a0RN2 back toward Antananarivo.<\/li>\n
      • Use the\u00a0Bypass to avoid the city centre traffic.<\/li>\n
      • Continue south on the\u00a0RN7 to Antsirabe.<\/li>\n
      • Roads are\u00a0fully paved, but expect potholes and heavy truck traffic, especially between Tana and Antsirabe \u2014 this is Madagascar\u2019s main trade route from the coast to the south.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        • Take a\u00a0lunch pack from your lodge in Andasibe for an easier day.<\/li>\n
        • Prefer a stop?\u00a0La Pineta in Ambatolampy is a great option with local dishes and pasta.<\/li>\n

          Route<\/strong><\/p>\n

          • Follow the\u00a0RN2 back towards Antananarivo, a winding and scenic mountain road.<\/li>\n
          • Watch out for\u00a0potholes, especially around curves.<\/li>\n
          • Once near the capital,\u00a0avoid the city centre, follow Google Maps and stay outside downtown.<\/li>\n
          • Your final destination is Ivato, where the international airport is located.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
