Pangani & Ushongo<\/h2>\n

The Tanzanian coastline here is authentic and surprisingly untouched by tourism \u2014 a stark contrast to nearby Zanzibar. Only a handful of small-scale lodges and expats are based along this stretch, making it feel peaceful and genuine.<\/h4>\n

Pangani is a tranquil Swahili coastal town with historic architecture and a rich past as a trading port.               • Pongwe \u2192 Msata: Join the A14 at Pongwe and follow it to Msata.<\/li>\n

                          • Pongwe \u2192 Segera: Join the\u00a0A14 inland to Segera.<\/li>\n
                          • Segera \u2192 Mombo: Continue on the\u00a0B1 all the way to Mombo.<\/li>\n
                          • Mombo \u2192 Lushoto: Drive through Mombo and turn right at the\u00a0Usambara Filling Station. From here, the road climbs steadily into the\u00a0Usambara Mountains until you reach Lushoto.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
