Meru National Park<\/h2>\n

Meru National Park offers a completely different landscape from the dry plains of northern Kenya. If you\u2019re travelling from Samburu, you\u2019ll immediately notice the contrast: greener scenery, fertile farmlands, dense forests and numerous rivers crossing the park.<\/p>\n

Despite its size and excellent wildlife viewing, Meru remains far less visited than many of Kenya\u2019s better-known safari destinations. All of the Big Five can be found here, with elephants and buffaloes particularly common. The park also has a rhino sanctuary that protects both black and white rhinos.<\/p><\/div>\n\t <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

    Approx. 8 hours | 317 km<\/span><\/p>\n

    From Meru National Park, follow the Meru-Maua Road and turn right onto the Muriri-Miciimikuru Road towards Isiolo. Once you reach Isiolo, you can fuel up your car again and stock up on supplies before continuing your journey, if needed. There are also options on the way to Nanyuki or Sagana later on.<\/p>\n

    From Isiolo, follow the A2 south via Nanyuki and Sagana towards Nairobi. The road is generally easy to drive, although traffic can become quite busy as you get closer to Nairobi. Allow some extra time for the final part of the journey, especially when entering the city during rush hour.<\/p><\/div>\n\t <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

    To: Samburu<\/h2> \t

    Approx. 3,5 hours | 97 km<\/span><\/p>\n

    From Meru National Park, follow the Meru-Maua Road and turn right onto the Muriri-Miciimikuru Road towards Isiolo. At the end of this road, you will reach the main road in Isiolo.<\/p>\n

    Isiolo is a good place to fuel up your car and stock up on supplies before continuing towards Buffalo Springs. From Isiolo, follow the A2 north and turn off towards either Ngare Mara Gate or Chokaa Gate to enter the reserve and continue to your accommodation.<\/p>\n

    As we recommend staying at Buffalo Springs, we only explain the road to this part of Samburu National Park. At the end of the route, you will head off the A2 and turn left to the Ngare Mara Gate or Chokaa Gate. Both gates are possible, but when you take the Ngare Mara Gate, you can have a (longer) game drive on the route to your accommodation already.<\/p><\/div>\n\t <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
