Restricted areas<\/h2>\n

Kenya is safe to explore independently, and doing so is a lot of fun.<\/h4>\n

Please note that there are some restrictions and off-limit travel areas. Travel is prohibited anywhere north of Samburu National Park and the area past the Galana River. Read on for the exact details. <\/h4>\n

In Nairobi, we only offer car delivery and pick-up services to hotels within Nairobi County, excluding downtown Eastlands. Kenya off limit travel areas<\/h2> \t

Northern Kenya\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anywhere north of Samburu National Park is prohibited. So all roads leading to Marsabit, Chalbi desert, Loiyangalani, Lake Turkana, and North and South Hor coming down to Lodwar. Because of the drought, the region is a bit more unstable due to cattle raiding. Tourists are never the target, but we do take precautions and currently do not allow our vehicles to go further north than Samburu National Park.<\/p>\n

North – East\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The area past Galana River towards Garson, Mandera and all areas north to Wajir and Moyale are completely prohibited. The region borders Somalia and is unstable. Please see the North East restricted line projected on the map.<\/p>\n

Lamu Island by car<\/strong><\/p>\n

You’re allowed to drive along the coast but no further north than Malindi. You must catch a domestic flight when visiting\u00a0Lamu Island<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Note that these excluded areas are listed in our rental terms and conditions. Our vehicles have car trackers to monitor if a hirer breaches the contract and, therefore would be fully liable for any costs and loss of security bond.<\/p>\n
