At Roadtrip Africa, we own all of our rental cars, and we never subcontract from third parties. Each vehicle is serviced at our workshop in Tanzania after every trip. Furthermore, we have a close network of upcountry workshops for minor onsite repairs. If you have a breakdown, rest assured that we offer 24/7 roadside assistance and always have a replacement vehicle available.

CAMPING - Landcruiser Double Cab Canopy

The Landcruiser Double Cab is your ultimate all-terrain camping vehicle. The sturdy car has 4 window seats and a customised canopy on the back for easy access to camping equipment and luggage. The Landcruiser can fit two rooftop tents, so it's the perfect vehicle for families and friends. With one rooftop tent mounted, the two roof hatches are still free to be used.

SAFARI - Landcruiser with pop up roof

It doesn't get more safari than this! The Landcruiser Troopy stretch has six seats and a pop-up roof for wildlife viewing. Note that the car's booth is small, so when you travel with camp gear, the Landcruiser fits a maximum of 4 people only. 

Manual, Diesel, 2x 80 litres, 2 spare tires and inverter. Fuel consumption is around 7-8 km/litre. Note that this car has no A/C. When equipped with a rooftop tent, the pop-up roof is incompatible. Know which vehicle to choose and what to expect: find your full car rental specs here.

BUDGET - Suzuki Escudo

The Suzuki Escudo is sporty, compact, and robust, as well as easy and economical to drive. It is an automatic with four-wheel drive and A/C. Fuel consumption is very low compared to the Landcruiser: around 10-12 km/litre. 

The Escudo can fit up to four people, or two people with camping gear. It cannot be equipped with a rooftop tent or fridge, but you can hire a ground tent instead. Traveling to the Serengeti and Lake Natron in an Escudo is not allowed. Find the full Tanzania car rental specs here.
