Arusha accommodation tips

If you enter Tanzania at Kilimanjaro Airport, you can choose to stay near the airport, USA River or Arusha National Park (covered under Kilimanjaro International Airport), or stay in Arusha town. From Arusha, it's about a 60-90 minute drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport and 1 hour to Arusha National Park.

Arusha is known as the "safari capital" of Tanzania and is the gateway to some of the country's most famous national parks of the Northern Circuit,  such as Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire.

Arusha has a number of well-stocked supermarkets, so you can gather supplies prior to embarking on your safari. Visitors to Arusha can also explore local markets, shop for souvenirs, and enjoy nice cafes and restaurants. Accommodation in Arusha is competitively priced. There is a large selection of good quality guesthouses and hotels on offer in the budget price category.
