NCA accommodations tips

The Ngorongoro Crater is a Unesco World Heritage Site. The crater is the world's largest intact caldera and is the only place in the world where you have a very high chance of seeing the 'Big 5' in one day. Visiting Ngorongoro is always an unforgettable experience, both because of the unrivalled amount of wildlife you get to see in one day, and the high costs to see it...In half a day, you are able to cover most of the game-viewing tracks. Consult our Ngorongoro Travel Guide for more practical information.

The only public campsite is Simba Public Campsite A, located on the crater rim.

Ndutu Area, the short grass plains forming one ecosystem with the Serengeti, also falls under the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Alternatively, you van stay in Karatu, the gateway town to the NCA. Accommodation in Karatu is competitively priced. There is a good selection of quality hotels on offer in the mid-range price category. Check our Karatu section for hotel tips.
