Guestblog by Roadtripper Malgorzata in Kenya: 'The big unknown'

by Malgorzata

So about the trip...

It was a big unknown from the beginning. I decided to rent a car and set off without planning anything in advance. The freedom of having your own home on four wheels is indescribable.

The people I met were my guides. Overnight at a wild campsite next to a Maasai village, which I met by accident when I was making lunch on a small gas stove in Amboseli Park - it was a pleasure that cannot be planned in advance. Driving through flooded roads in an old Toyota is an adventure that gives you a sense of freedom.

I drove ahead all day, and when the time came, I found the perfect campsite.

I experienced the most beautiful morning in the Masai Mara when the mists rose lazily from the savannah and balloons with morning tourists emerged among them. The elephant family was lazily eating breakfast, and I was sitting in the window of my roof tent with a cup of hot tea and could watch this spectacle for hours.
