Ngare Ndare Forest

Ngare Ndare is a lush indigenous forest at the foothills of Mount Kenya. Despite its beautiful setting, it remains relatively quiet and is well worth a visit.

Activités à faire

The Ngare Ndare forest is known for its waterfalls, crystal-clear pools and canopy walk, one of the longest in East Africa. You can hike through the forest, swim in the natural pools and, if you’re lucky, spot forest elephants along the way.

Tip: Call the ranger post in advance to check whether a guide is available to accompany you to the pools. The guides are knowledgeable and know the forest well. (+254 700 412 532)

Accommodation
For those travelling with camping gear, there is a public campsite inside the forest. Alternatively, continue to Nanyuki, about 90 minutes away. Nanyuki is the gateway to Ol Pejeta Conservancy and offers supermarkets, restaurants and a range of accommodation options.
