We did the “Madagascar Grand Circuit” and drove the car all the way our self. For the West Coast we had an amazing pisteur (guide) with us. Definitely very useful if you are not that experienced with 4×4 driving, but also the navigation and especially showing some highlights along the way (like the hollow baobab).
We always self-drive but if you have the chance to get a driver-guide like Cato (Moses) don’t hesitate to hire him. He made our roadtrip in Uganda unforgettable. His great mood, willingness to help and knowledge of the country definitely make a huge difference to get the most of the Pear of Africa Naturally, culturally and people speaking!
