4-Wheel Drive: Yes. Instructions on how to engage 4WD are included in the Driving in Uganda manual supplied with the car.
Spare tyres: 2.
Tyre pressure: 30 PSI front / 35 PSI rear, depending on load. The tyre pressure is already well adjusted; there is no need to change it yourself.
The interior and tools
Pop-up roof: No.
Inverter: No.
Dual battery (for fridge): Yes, the second battery is specifically wired to power the fridges we offer and isn’t suitable for other devices.
Water tank: No.
A/C: Yes. Please note that we don’t do field repairs or send a replacement vehicle in the rare case there are problems with the A/C. Wiring and piping are sensitive and suffer from bumpy roads and dust. The knowledge and equipment to repair A/C’s are sadly not available in the field.
Audio: Radio with small speakers and USB and audio port. Bring your own audio cable (mini jack) to play music from your phone.
Boot/canopy: Together with the Navara, the Hilux offers the largest storage space in our fleet. If you’re travelling with five people (two adults + three young children), make sure to pack light so everything fits comfortably. Soft duffel bags are easier to pack and fit better than hard suitcases.
Rooftop tent: This vehicle can support up to two rooftop tents. You can turn the Hlux into a fully equipped camper for an additional fee. Check out the camping gear for hire.
Tools: Wheel spanner, towing rope, spade, jumper cables, high lift jack and small jack.
