Sipi Falls sits at the base of Mount Elgon and is home to three spectacular waterfalls, world-class Arabica coffee, and some of the best sunsets in Uganda.
It’s a perfect place to unwind in cool, peaceful surroundings. Whether you want to relax or get active, Sipi offers it all — from hiking trails and village walks to learning about local coffee farming.

Approx. 4 hours | 198 km
Leave the hills of Sipi Falls behind and head out to the Source of the Nile!

To: Entebbe
Approx. 7 hours | 320 km
Today is a full driving day, so make sure to hit the road early.
Route overview
From Sipi Falls, follow a well-paved road through Mbale and Jinja all the way to Entebbe.
Suggested stops
- Mbale – Fuel up and grab a takeaway coffee at Colobus Café.
- Jinja – The Deli is a great lunch spot before continuing your drive.
Important!
After Jinja, avoid the congested Mukono route. Instead, take the Bukoloto–Gayaza road to reach the Kampala Northern Bypass. From there, connect to the Entebbe Express Highway (toll road – bring a 5,000 UGX note).
Once in Entebbe, the Roadtrip Uganda crew will collect your car from your lodge.

Ready to explore remote Northern Uganda? Today’s road offers changing scenery, from green hills to the drier savannah of Karamoja.
Route overview
- Drive from Sipi Falls to the Muyembe trading centre, then follow the Mbale–Moroto road for most of the journey (164 km).
- At Nadunget, turn right. From here, it’s just 15 km to Kara-Tunga Lodge in Moroto.
